This week we toured Drake Homes, our newest business investor, Eclipse Salon and dove deep into setting up more social media marketing sites and our LinkedIn page.

Student Teaching

We finished up the book discussions that the students facilitated based on books that they have read. The following books, Good to Great, Entrepreneur's Playbook, Game On,Think and Grow Rich and Say Yes to LIfe were all presented on Monday.

Setting Up Customer Services Processes

Libby Trelz, owner of Eclipse Salon, spoke to the students about doing everything with intent. She discussed having a customer service dialogue: thank them, ask for referrals, identify their product needs and ask for the next appointment. She recommended the Entre-Leadership podcast and the book, The Power of Moments.
Tour of Drakes Homes

Mary and Avery Drake started the class by quizzing the students on the details of their own homes. What color are the door handles and what type of sink they have? There are hundreds of decisions when building a home, and they are there every step of the way to make it an enjoyable process. 

They discussed the business strategies to serve a 100-mile radius from Charleston and have recently increased their commercial building to diversify their income streams. Drake Homes gives back to the community, so we discussed putting together a ClassE basket for the EIU Spring Fling Silent Auction.
