Dear HS Parents,

We are excited that our 10th, 11th and 12th graders will join our 9th graders for on-campus hybrid learning next Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27. Cohort 1 will learn in school on Monday and Thursday and at home on Tuesday and Friday. Cohort 2 will learn at home on Monday and Thursday and in school on Tuesday and Friday. Here are the calendars for cohort 1 and cohort 2.

In anticipation of this, we want to update all HS families of what to expect beginning next week.

Arrival on Campus
Student safety is our #1 priority during carpool drop off and pick up! Always give the carpool staff 100% of your attention and follow their directions at all times when in carpool. We can expect a heavier volume of cars as 10th, 11th and 12th grade student and parent drivers join HS carpool next week. In addition, please be aware there have been slight changes made to the carpool process since last year; please familiarize yourself with the HS carpool map so you understand the flow. Please pack extra patience while everyone adjusts to these changes. If your student-driver needs a parking pass, please have them email Ms. Norris at vnorris@lncharter.org.

Morning Carpool
Carpool at the high school begins at 7:15AM and ends at 7:40AM. Students must wait for a signal from a staff member before exiting your vehicle. Once your HS student exits the car, they should walk directly to the HS student entrance, standing on one of the Knights heads that has been painted on the sidewalk as a reminder to socially distance.

Please remind your student they are required to have their mask on PRIOR to exiting their vehicle. Students will enter the building in an orderly and safe fashion, acknowledge the attestation questions and have their temperature taken once inside. It is important that students answer the attestation questions completely and honestly in accordance with the LNC Honor Code signed by all LNC stakeholders. Temperature taking and answering the attestation questions are part of the LNC health and safety protocols that are in place to protect students, parents, teachers and staff. Information on our Health and Safety Protocols, the FAQ and the LNC Dashboard are available on our COVID-19 page.

Dropping Off Both MS and HS Students
If you also have a MS student to drop off, you may do so at the HS at 7:30AM or after. Do NOT arrive at the HS campus and attempt to drop your MS student off prior to 7:30AM as there is no supervision for our MS students before then. Prior to your MS student exiting your car you must have answered the attestation questions. This ONLY applies to MS students. If this applies to your family, see the MS communication for further information that you will need to know. Once your MS student exits your vehicle (make sure they are wearing a mask!) they will follow the sidewalk to the campus crosswalk (see map) and be escorted across the main campus drive by a staff member.

Afternoon Carpool
Afternoon carpool at the high school begins at 1:45PM and runs until 2:15PM. There are no placards, car tags or carpool numbers needed.

HS Bell Schedule
School begins at 7:45AM and dismisses at 1:45PM. Students will follow the hybrid learning bell schedule

PTO Lunches
The PTO offers students the opportunity to order hot lunches on a prepaid ordering basis. Lunch orders are placed at www.orgsonline.com. For families new to LNC, here are instructions for setting up an account and placing an order. Returning families should click here for links and quick reminders about the process. For this ordering period, lunches will be delivered to students between November 9 and 23 and orders must be placed by 11:59PM on Monday, October 26.

LNC Volunteers
The school is having only essential volunteers assist with the lunch program. If that changes and more volunteers are needed, information will be posted to the LNC2HSP Schoology group. Understanding volunteer opportunities are limited this first semester, we are reducing the Serve10 expectation (every family is asked to volunteer at least 10 hours per year at LNC) for our families from 10 hours to 5 hours. We will revisit that expectation in January.
We look forward to seeing our HS students on Monday and Tuesday, Pease remember if your student is not feeling well, they should stay home. It is up to each of us to work together to keep our community safe.
