January 2019
Each day we hear stories of quilters who are giving back to their communities in big and small ways. Whether it is volunteering with an organization such as Quilts of Valor, giving palliative care quilts to children in the hospital, or making a quilt for each new baby born in their church, many of our quilters use their Gammill machines to bless other people. We would like to recognize some of our amazing quilters who are making a difference in the world with the help of their Gammill machines. We will spotlight Gammill quilters in this monthly newsletter and on our social media pages. To nominate yourself or a quilter you know, click the button below. Nominees who are selected will be contacted for photos to use with the feature.

Best of Both Worlds

Linda Taylor demonstrates freehand and computerized quilting techniques, and records a custom design in this episode of the Best of Both Worlds. She shows us how to build a boundary to design the blocks in this 8-point star quilt. Next, she records the quilting of her Linda's Egyptian Curl design and adds feathers for a custom pattern that she can repeat in other parts of the quilt. She finishes the quilt with a free-hand border.
