*** ACTION ALERT ***
Contact Speaker Pelosi and tell her to remove Ilhan Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee and cancel Rashida Tlaib's planned trip to the "West Bank." She also needs to rescind
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's appointment to the powerful House Oversight Committee, which is expected to be at the center of investigations into President Donald Trump's administration. The favorable treatment these freshmen progressives are receiving flies in the face of sound logic.
One might go so far to call these assignments treasonous
.

SHE IS NOT QUALIFIED FOR ANY APPOINTMENT!
US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has appointed newly elected legislator Representative Ilhan Omar to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Omar is a well-known anti-Semite who holds no particular expertise or competence on foreign affairs
.
This Congresswoman has a horrific and frightening record of virulent anti-Israel actions that add up to anti-Semitism
as defined by the State Department May 2016 document “
Defining Anti-Semitism
.”
Rep. Omar’s open hatred of Israel renders her hopelessly biased against Israel making it impossible for her to make a reasonable, rational decision on any issue concerning Israel and the Arab/Islamic world.
Omar's record speaks for itself.
While Omar was a Minnesota state legislator in 2017 she was one of two legislators who
voted against a bill
to stop insurance payments to convicted terrorists.
In 2017 Omar
voted against a bill
that would bar Minnesota from contracting with companies that engage in BDS.
Pelosi’s appointment of Omar sends a frightening message that viscious anti-Israel actions and anti-Semitism is acceptable. This only serves to legitimize anti-Israel actions and anti-Semitism and Israel bashing.
Contact Speaker Pelosi NOW and express your opposition to this disgraceful appointment and demand that Ilhan Omar be removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

CANCEL THIS TRIP
AFSI has previously reported on Tlaib's virulent anti-Semitism and Israel hating rhetoric and activity.

First Person: Matti Friedman in Conversation with Lucette Lagnado
.
Friedman’s new book, "
Spies of No Country: Secret Lives at the Birth of Israel
" tells the unknown story of four of Israel’s first spies. Recruited by a rag-tag outfit called the Arab Section before the 1948 War of Independence, they assumed Arab identities to gather intelligence and carry out sabotage and assassinations. At the height of the war the spies posed as refugees fleeing the fighting, reached Beirut, and set up what became Israel’s first foreign intelligence station. In a wide-ranging First Person conversation, Matti Friedman speaks with author Lucette Lagnado ("The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit") about his journalism career, researching and writing his new book, and what Spies of No Country reveals about Israel in the 20th and 21st centuries. Ticket prices: $15 general; $12 seniors; $10 CJH members and students. Buy online at
