President's Letter PresLtr
Dear AFP Greater Detroit Chapter Members,

Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the holidays and that your new year is off to a great start. This is my first month as President of the AFP Greater Detroit Chapter and I am looking forward to working with your newly elected 2019 Board of Directors and the 2019 Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs to ensure we are providing you, your colleagues, and your key volunteers with resources you need to be successful.

My rallying cry for the chapter in 2019 is "Be inclusive in all we do." We want all those in the Greater Detroit area who are working, volunteering, or interested in the fundraising profession to feel welcome and engaged with the chapter. Please feel free to contact me or other Board members and Committee Chairs/Vice Chairs with your questions, suggestions, and to discuss ways you can get more involved. Our contact information is available via the links in the first paragraph. We are all volunteers so if you don't hear back right away, please reach out again.

You can also help the chapter be more inclusive by encouraging others you know who would benefit from chapter programs, events, networking, and service to learn about our offerings. The Chapter website has a wealth of information and is a good first step to learn more. We have a new URL for the chapter website this year so you may want to bookmark the site for easy access. Thank you!

I am excited to see and get to know more of you during the year. And a great big thank you to my fellow Board members and all Committee members for agreeing to serve the chapter in 2019.

Warmly,

Diane Gulyas, M.P.A. CFRE

Get Involved with AFP GDCCommInvolv
Seize the opportunity to join one of the 2019 AFP Greater Detroit Chapter Committees and you'll grow and improve our chapter, promote ethics and values, put on memorable programs, and help advancement professionals learn from industry leaders (and each other) while gaining experience in new areas of fundraising. Everyone in AFP leads busy lives but committee participation is reasonable, doable, and worth it beyond measure.
Be the CAUSE... Your Gift Can Make a Difference BtC

Our chapter can take pride in the fact that 100% of our board has made a gift to the BE the CAUSE Campaign. Passion, purpose and pride not only drive what we do, but why we do it.

My fellow Board members and I invite you to join us by making a gift to the BE the CAUSE Campaign in support of our chapter and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy. Your investment in the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy will help support local, national and international programs, such as Diversity & Inclusion, Professional Development, and research.
