AWARDS & RECOGNITION

This invaluable program recognizes deserving individuals throughout the Rams' football season in which each home game pays tribute to a local citizen and/or everyday "hero" during an on-field presentation at halftime.

The Cornerstone core mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of others, and supporting our local heroes is one more way to put some good into the world," said Cornerstone Home Lending Division President Gene Humphries. "When we sponsor Colorado State's `Hometown Hero,' we're really thanking that individual for protecting and strengthening our community -- which is home to us all."
Denver Post December 19, 2018:
"With an army of athletically-minded coaches and mentors, two brothers help some of Denver’s most at-risk teenagers prepare for life after high school.
Much of the list of Denver-area high school graduates who have been helped in some way by nonprofit Athletics & Beyond reads like a top prospect scouting report for the NCAA. Students who participated in Athletics & Beyond programming have gone on to play football at places like the University of Oregon, Kansas State and even Harvard."

But it’s the “beyond” in Athletics & Beyond that co-founder Narcy Jackson has been most focused on since launching his grassroots organization with his brother 13 years ago. “We understand that in order to capture the attention of young adults, we go where their interest is,” says Jackson, who was inspired by all the non-athletic things that went on behind the scenes to make the NBA All-Star Game happen in Denver in 2005. “But we are a mentoring program first and foremost.”
