Principal's Message
January 19, 2018
Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:
OLQP staff are busy preparing for an amazing, grand finale' to the end of January! We wrap up this first month of 2018 with report cards, registration, Catholic Schools Week, and then the OLQP fundraising weekend. It can seem a bit daunting, but the effort is worth it! We appreciate the OLQP families and staff who are going all out to support the school. You are making a difference in the life and future of OLQP! THANK YOU!
One of the comments I continue to hear is that this school year has been very strange! Hurricanes and floods, a solar eclipse, snow, and winter storms (not to mention the super blue moon/lunar eclipse at the end of the month!)...It is unusual at the very least. There are, in the midst of trials and inconveniences, blessings to be found. I hope that during the unexpected days off this week you were able to gather your children around you and enjoy each other's company. In the years ahead, many will remember the 2017-2018 school year as one for the record books!
Thank you for being part of the mission and ministry of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.
Counting our Blessings...

Did You Know?
This is not the first time that OLQP has had a whole weekend dedicated to fundraising. "Back in the day," the Fall Festival was a two day event. Thanks to Hurricane Harvey and the weeks of flooding and devastation that followed, the Fall Festival, as we have come to know it, was postponed.  It was a time of concern and care for all of our families and our community many of whom suffered great losses. This date was chosen because it was the best of available. Working together, staying focused on the mission and ministry of OLQP, we can make this weekend one for the record books!
News You Can Use...
If you are concerned about missing the Superbowl's pre-game coverage while you are at the Festival, worry no more! Thanks to Beef O'Brady, Dail-Wilson and company will be providing a big screen for your viewing pleasure! Bring your pre-party to the Festival. The bar-b-que will be ready and waiting for you!
