For Kimble’s Food by Design , freshly made food isn’t just for the fresh food machine or the manual cafeteria. The company’s passion for producing great food also extends to the candy and snack category, giving refreshment service operators a chance to offer customers a great tasting snack for vending machines and micro markets. Launched in 1985 as a three-person vending operation in LaGrange, Ga., Kimble’s Food by Design has expanded to a full-service food operation that is becoming known nationwide for its Ole School Cornflake Chewy and Ole Honey snacks.  The story began in 1985 when Kimble Carter, a short order cook in a biscuit shop, started a small vending business in LaGrange, Ga., servicing accounts from his car, assisted by his wife, Debra, and one employee. He rented a basement office in a paint store in nearby Columbus. The company expanded slowly, and in the late 1990s, a local hotel asked Carter to cater their events, leading to the birth of Kimble’s Food by Design. GLK Foods Introduces Hoppin’ Jalapenos GLK Foods recently introduced its Hoppin’ Jalapenos pickled jalapeno bites to its line of OH SNAP! pickles and veggies snaps, which offer healthy, portable snacking options. Hoppin’ Jalapenos come in 1.5-ounce bags. The snacks come individually packaged and are freshly packed to ensure freshness. The snacks have no brine added, and are gluten-free, fat-free and made with non-GMO vegetables. The snacks have a 4-month shelf life and require refrigeration. Other snacks in the OH SNAP! line include Dilly Bites, Gone Dilly, Hottie Bites, Hottie, Carrot Cuties, Cool Beans and Pretty Peas. Tyson Debuts Its Big AZ KICK AZ Croissant Tyson Foodservice recently introduced Big AZ KICK AZ Croissant to its Big AZ line of sandwiches, featuring sriracha glazed sausage with ham, egg, Swiss cheese and spicy pepper Jack cheese on a buttery croissant. Targeting the critical breakfast day part, each sandwich is hand assembled and wrapped in packaging that lets the consumer view the ingredients. Each sandwich is 6.2 ounces, offering 21 grams of protein per serving. The product features 14 days refrigerated and 270 days frozen shelf life. Big AZ KICK AZ Croissant comes with options to merchandise hot from the warmer or cold case for microwave heating on demand. The product is available in window butcher paper and in hand wrapped film packaging. READ ON
