UHC EARNS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT RECOGNITION







On February 23 rd  the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services delivered UHC a Health Center Quality Certificate for its recognition as National Quality Leader. Only 47 HRSA-supported health centers were designated as leaders, and UHC proudly placed 5 th  among all California grantees. Several areas including chronic disease management, preventive care, and perinatal/prenatal care are used to determine health center rankings. The certificate was a direct result of HRSA Quality Improvement Award given to UHC for recognition in Enhancing Access to Care, Delivery of High Value Health Care, and Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition. By meeting or surpassing these benchmarks, UHC was awarded $273,711 for its efforts.

MENDOTA STAFF SUPPORT MIGRANT ANNUAL MINI CONFERENCE







On March 8th, Mendota Health Center staff provided blood pressure screenings, enrollment information and scheduled appointments for more than 100 attendants of the Migrant Annual Mini Conference.  The event, hosted by the Mendota Unified School District, included a resource fair, workshops on various topics for parents and dinner.
UHC RECOGNIZED AS THE 2017 4TH QUARTER EMPLOYER OF EXCELLENCE


On March 2 nd UHC was awarded a 2017 4 th Quarter Employer of Excellence Award from the Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board (FRWDB) and West Hills College Coalinga Workforce Connection. This award recognizes businesses in the community who demonstrate a commitment to mentor community youth while providing a positive work experience environment that allows them to thrive and grow in the workforce, as well as, going the extra mile to mentor. 

UHC was nominated by Claudia Call, Business Account Specialist, Workforce Connection, West Hills College. Naomi H. Popoff accepted the award on behalf of UHC. A video interview featuring Naomi and Martha Trejo, Optometry Health Care Associate at the Mendota Health Center, who was a former participant in the Workforce Program, will be presented to the FRWDB Board of Directors at their next meeting, as well as, posted on the FRWDB Facebook and Website.

UHC STAFF EDUCATE PARTICIPANTS OF MIGRANT MINI CONFERENCE IN REEDLEY



More than 100 participants of the annual Migrant Parent Advisory Committee Mini Conference in Reedley received blood pressure screenings, as well as, Behavioral Health, Nutrition and Enrollment information from UHC staff.

The event at Grant Middle School on March 3rd featured workshops on various topics for parents, including "Creating a Healthier You", in which UHC Degreed Health Educators discussed nutrition and exercise.
