Grandview School Raises $19,138 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

 

Grandview School has raised $19,138 this school year! Our students who raised the most money this year for each grade level are pictured below from left to right - Michela DiGiorgio (first grade), Sophia Capadona (kindergarten), Lindsey Trauman (second grade), and Cathleen Koch (third grade). Thank you to our wonderful North Caldwell community for their continuous support and generosity.

Gould Students Participate in 2018 Eastern Division Elementary Honor Choir

While northern New Jersey was digging out from under last week's nor'easter, four outstanding musicians from the Gould School Chorus traveled to Pittsburgh, PA, to participate in the 2018 ACDA Eastern Division Elementary Honor Choir. The students in the 100-voice choir were chosen by audition from an eleven-state region spanning from Maine to Maryland. They spent three days in intensive rehearsals with Dr. Susan Brumfield, Professor of Music Education at Texas Tech University and Founder and Artistic Director of the West Texas Children's Chorus. Their time in Pittsburgh culminated in a beautiful concert at Heinz Hall, historic home of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Congratulations to Priya Marcus, Aaron Blanco, Kaya Gerdes, and Stella Kim for representing North Caldwell in this esteemed choir!


Classroom Happenings
  • In honor of learning letters 'P' and 'J,' the big-hearted kindergartners celebrated a "PJ Day." To enhance the day, they also shared in the gift of giving by donating books to the organization Project Night Night, a charity that helps "homeless children have sweeter dreams." Each kindergartner was asked to bring in just one book to donate. The kindergartners felt so proud as they saw all of their books together and how much of a difference they would be making for other children donating almost 100 books in total! Their teachers are quite proud too!
