Message from President
 Bonnie Chapman

Greetings Soroptimists,

What do you call fake spaghetti?

An Impasta!

As we chug toward our milestone birthday of 90 years as a club here in Chico, I can say we marked #89 well and can feel proud of our current work and all that has come before us. We are so fortunate to be part of something so meaningful. Happy Birthday to us all, again.

This week all committees will be meeting and getting BUSY! We have a full slate of activities, service and fun this spring. Lots to look forward to.

I would like to thank Nancy Hanson, Kathy Erickson and Sue Ligon for agreeing to serve on our nominating committee. If anyone else would like to be part of this committee, please let me know right away. In addition, if you are interested in any of our awesome, life-changing, inspiring, fun and meaningful board positions...talk to any of these women and let them know.

It's another great week to be a Soroptimist!

With Gratitude,
Soroptimist International of Chico

Nancy Hanson 831-594-1150
Sue Ligon  408-710-2375

Please read the Board job descriptions below.  Please contact the present board member who holds the job you are interested in to get more information.  We want you to be informed of the  duties of the office before you volunteer for the job. Being on the Board is a great experience for new members too.  You really get an understanding of how our club works and you get a voice in the decisions that are made. Please consider supporting our club with your participation.

Handbook

The Administration Committee is in the process of updating the SI Chico Handbook (located in the "  Member's only " section of the website). Section 2: Board Job Descriptions and Section 3: Committee Job Descriptions have been completed and attached to this message.

Soroptimist International of Chico is saddened at the loss of our friend and Soroptimist sister, Carol Thomson. Carol joined our club in 2006 after years in SI  South Lake Tahoe. Carol provided a strong voice for women and worked hard in our club. She brought knowledge from her years in another club and was a valued volunteer and friend. She shared her talent and love of art with our membership. Those who followed her on social media were given the gift of her sharing her art journals and other creative works. Carol was a vibrant, dedicated, motivated and joyful woman. Her love and light will be deeply missed.
