Dear WES Families,

I hope this note finds you well and that your family is finding meaningful ways to connect and relax during Spring Break. As there have been significant developments regarding Maryland’s response to the spread of COVID-19, I wanted to provide an update regarding our distance learning timeline.

In line with Governor Hogan’s decision that all Maryland Public Schools will remain closed until April 24, WES has also decided to continue distance learning until at least that date. At this time, we think it would be unwise to project further about when on-site classes will resume. New information is being released daily, and public health experts and government officials have not yet reached consensus on the best course of action. We did, however, want to provide you with some time to plan accordingly.

We are excited to start the WES Distance Learning Plan on Tuesday, March 31! On Monday, you will receive further information about accessing the plan.

I am extremely impressed by the flexibility and resilience our community has shown. We are so thankful for you and your family. Please remember, our faculty and staff are here to help. We are actively reaching out to families right now, but please also don’t hesitate to let us know if you need assistance or support in any way.

Sincerely,
Danny Vogelman
