After a long winter, we are all excited for warm weather!
With spring right around the corner, we say goodbye to snow and hello to April showers and May flowers! For the Community Foundation, spring always brings with it a tremendous feeling of vitality, as we look forward to announcing our community grants for the upcoming year.
As someone who cares deeply about our wonderful community, we hope that you will be excited to share this infectious energy with us at our upcoming Annual General Meeting and Grant Announcement Event. Our special guest will motivate you to jump on your bicycle and get outside to enjoy the warmth and sunshine! Read on to find out more.

Things look great for our community foundation in the coming year!
We don't let the grass grow under our feet and we are very excited to invite everyone to see what we accomplished in 2017, and what we have planned for 2018 and beyond.

Not your garden variety AGM!
We know how everyone feels about Annual General Meetings, they are like watching grass grow - not very exciting!
That is why we are pleased to have Megan Murphy as our special guest this year. You may know Megan as a Peterborough radio station morning show co-host on
93.3 MyFM and 107.9 Classic Rock, and an afternoon drive co-host on Oldies 96.7, but did you know that she is also an award winning filmmaker?
We will be screening Megan's documentary film, Murphy's Law, which was honoured with the award for Best Documentary at the Fingal Film Festival in Ireland in 2016. The film primiered at Showplace in Peterborough, with two sold out shows, and has been screened at film festivals and theatres across Canada to rave reviews:

Here is a brief synopsis of the movie -
On the eve of her 35
th
birthday, Megan moved back into her childhood home. For the first time in her life, she was alone; both of her parents are dead. In cleaning out her parents' belongings, she found her father's journal, long believed lost in a fire. It chronicled his 1973 solo bike journey through Ireland when he was just 26 years old. Struggling with her own grief and broken heart, she decides to take her father's journal and his original 1973 red Peugeot and return to the land of her ancestors. Will retracing her father's journey help her to find her own way forward?
Megan will be on-hand after the screening to answer any questions.

Trent Hills is fortunate to have a large number of organizations which provide necessary services and programming for our community. These organizations require support, not only by volunteering, but with donations as well. We would like to encourage everyone to be a ray of hope, and consider giving back to their community first.

Our assets support all the charitable causes within our community, including those profiled above. We are an endowment based public foundation, so gifts are pooled and invested, and the annual earnings will be granted back to the community -
forever!
