Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan raises
more than $113,000 for community programs
The generous spirit of the holiday season was highlighted recently at Assistance League's 15th Annual Mistletoe Marketplace Fundraiser held at The Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township. The event, raising more than $113,000, provides nearly one-third of the critical funds needed to support their ongoing community-based philanthropic programs.

More than 760 guests enjoyed the luncheon, boutique shopping, auctions, raffles, and the strolling fashion show by Assistance League's own ReSale Connection shop - all to support programs that clothe, feed, educate and comfort infants, children, adults, families and seniors in our local communities.

Honorary Chairperson Monica Gayle of FOX 2 shared her heartfelt personal experience of helping students choose clothing at Operation School Bell®, one of Assistance League's signature programs, commenting that volunteers are "literally changing lives" with appreciation for their work.

The guests were inspired by featured speakers who shared their experiences with Assistance League's philanthropic programs. Ms. Amy Fratarcangeli, Director of My Pregnancy Coach MIHP, addressed the Wee Help program and the Safe Sleep Environment. Mr. Dannon Holley, Principal of Oak Park Preparatory Academy, and parent Mr. Andre Price, a widower and father of 3 young daughters, expressed the important gifts of Operation School Bell® leading to positive student outcomes. Ms. Kimberly Hurst, Executive Director of Wayne County SAFE, spoke about the value of the new clothing provided with the Assault Survivor Kits®

Assistance League President Nancy Troyer said, "Each of you sharing in our event shares in our commitment to Make a Difference - transforming lives and strengthening communities."
