"Our desires are not limited to the things we can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch. Our mind runs after ideas as greedily as our tongue hungers for tastes.

CELEBRATE LOSAR, TIBETAN NEW YEAR
Losar is the Tibetan New Year, when families gather to celebrate hopes for a better coming year. The first two weeks of the Tibetan year are particularly powerful spiritually, and auspicious for practice.
This year, Losar falls on Tuesday, February 5, when we'll hold a special guru puja at noon. The New Year will be commemorated with a celebration in the gompa on February 3rd, the previous Sunday.
Losar also ushers in the Days of Miracles, a 15-day period when karmic results of all our actions are multiplied. Our Tara practice in February falls within this period, so there's lots of energy in participating in this practice!
• Sun, Feb 3, 10:30-Noon, Losar celebration in the gompa

"I say to you today, my friends, though, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'"
~ 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
