Mental Health Week 2018

Did you know May 7-13 is Mental Health Week? The Canadian Mental Health Association is encouraging everyone to #GETLOUD about mental health, and in that spirit we're happy to highlight some of our resources that help promote positive mental health and well-being in school communities. 

Social & Emotional Well-Being Booster Kit 

Our Social & Emotional Well-Being Booster Kit helps students build confidence, explore their creativity, strengthen relationships with their peers and get more active throughout the school day - all of which can have a positive impact on their mental health.

Helping Students Manage Stress

When children have the skills and strategies they need to cope with stressors in their lives, their overall mental health and well-being is improved and they're better able to focus on their learning. This week, we're pleased to feature a guest blog post by Cindy Andrew of The Psychology Foundation of Canada - Helping Students (and Ourselves) Manage Stress: Tools for Resilience and Good Mental Health.

Professional Learning Opportunities

Alberta Medical Association Youth Run Club


The AMA Youth Run Club is a free, school-based running program designed to get children and youth active. Participating schools receive access to awesome incentives, support and resources to keep the club running strong.

Wheel Week 2018

Sharing Dance 2018

Grant Opportunities
Makadiff Grassroutes Community Sport Innovation Challenge provides deserving organizations with fresh ideas for taking community sport in positive new directions that promise to enhance access, increase participation and ensure positive experiences. 

Breakfast Club of Canada accepts applications year round from schools, school boards, registered non-profits and community organizations to establish a new breakfast program or strengthen an existing one. 

Youth Environmental Engagement Grants are available to schools, classrooms and youth groups that propose to engage young Albertans in existing or new environmental programs and experiences.
