The Children's Trust Announces
Parenting: Content Area Team Program Observations
Our content area team (CAT) members will be visiting Trust-funded parenting programs individually to conduct program observations; these visits will take place between February 4 and March 22. CAT members have been trained to implement the initiative-specific observation tool with fidelity in order to capture your program's strengths and discuss opportunities for improvement. In order for them to properly coordinate and schedule multiple site visits within this short period of time, we ask that you please send a final version of your schedule to your contract manager no later than January 25. You will receive an initiative-specific email with additional guidance regarding your CAT observation visit.

SEL Outcome Assessment Trainings

Advocacy Network on Disabilities: Upcoming Trainings

  • Creating a Welcoming Environment for All Friday, January 25, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Arcola Lakes Public Library, 8240 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, FL 33150
  • Discovering Inclusion Training - ONLINE Discovering Inclusion is an introductory workshop for staff with little or no previous knowledge about children and youth with disabilities and inclusion. It includes an introduction to various types of disabilities, identifying the benefits of inclusion for all, using People First Language and respectful etiquette, and the characteristics of an inclusive program. There is also an opportunity to explore personal beliefs and values.

Make a Real Difference in Your Community - CLEAR Miami is Recruiting! *
Catalyst Miami is recruiting for its next cohort of CLEAR Miami, Community Leadership on the Environment, Advocacy and Resilience. This is a FREE 10-week leadership training course around community organizing, social justice and climate resilience, specific to Miami-Dade County. Course will be held starting on Tuesday, February 12, at Miami Dade College's Wolfson campus. Dinner, a youth class and translation are all provided at no charge. Overtown residents are strongly encouraged to apply; graduates will be eligible for two fellowships which will provide funding and technical assistance to implement a community project. Miami International Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference (MICAMH) - Registration Open *
The Center for Children and Families at FIU is hosting the MICAMH Conference February 20-22. Learn evidence-based strategies for diverse child mental health topics including bullying, the psychological aftermath of school shootings, adolescent suicide, resilience in childhood, school-based mentoring and more. Grant Writing Certificate - Center for Nonprofit Management *
Miami Dade College Continuing Education and Professional Development announces grant writing courses. Students will acquire hands-on experience and skills to research funding opportunities, create community partnerships, write letters of commitment and submit grant proposals. Participants will also have the opportunity to apply what they are learning and receive feedback from experts. Up2US Sports, a national service program that trains young adults to coach and mentor children in at-risk communities, seeks provider partners that are in need of coaches.
