5:00pm - 7:00pm.
MEC Calgary if happy to open our climbing wall to the public twice a week for people to climb for FREE!! MEC will provide the climbing shoes, rope, belayer and encouragement. Come by MEC and bring your sense of adventure.

Cycle your way through your Adventurous Journey with Two Wheel View!
Calgary to Banff
Date: July 16-21, 2018
Ages: 14-17
Imagine exploring the prairies, foothills and mountains of Southern Alberta - all in one trip! Two Wheel View offers youth a unique travel experience that begins in Calgary and heads westward into the majestic Rockies.
Young Adult Leadership Trip
Date: June 23 & July 5-8, 2018
Ages: 18-24
The Young Adult Ride Leadership bike trip is designed for 18-24 year olds who have experience bicycle touring with Two Wheel View or otherwise, and wish to dive deeper into the philosophy and practice of leadership in the outdoors and as it pertains to self-supported bike trips. This experience consists of one day learning session at the TWV Headquarters followed by a 4-day bike trip. Participants from this trip, who are interested, will be considered for future opportunities on the Two Wheel View Bike Trip Leader team.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Hand out assigned bibs to runners before the race
Help keep runners on course
Hand out water on-course
Help hand out snacks and refreshments at the finish
Keep the event running smoothly
Turn runners around at designated points.
If you sign-up an email will be sent out about 3 days prior to the race with where to meet, what you will be doing and all other details (like parking etc.)
If you have any mobility or access restrictions or would prefer to be close to the start/finish line please indicate in the "how did you hear about us" section.
To show our appreciation MEC will be giving our volunteers a free signup for another Road/Trail Race in 2018.
Then you can train to run a 5k with MEC, COUCH TO 5KM: 10 WEEK RUNNING PROGRAMME http://events.mec.ca/node/199676 or train on your own.

Public Programs
We provide public programs and interpretive resources in many parks.
Join a park interpreter on a guided nature walk.
Come to a hilarious high-energy amphitheatre show.
Enjoy a fun, hands-on learning experience for the whole family.
Chat with a park interpreter one-on-one at select trailheads and day use areas, as well as visitor centres.
Pick up informative brochures and explore interactive exhibits at our visitor centres.
Self-guided interpretive trails are available in some locations - enjoy these trails of discovery with fascinating stories about plants, animals and local history. Search for "Interpretive" in the Trails listing. You can also check in the "trails" section for a specific park (located under the Information & Facilities tab.)
Our public programs are informal and fun. Interpretation:
is an innovative teaching technique that combines facts with stimulating explanatory information;
reveals the meanings of and relationships between natural, cultural, historical and recreational resources; and
is a profession with highly trained staff dedicated to environmental education.

Job Fair
Prospect is excited to announce that we're hosting a job fair for transitioning military personnel, reservists, military families and young adults aged 18-30. Several employers will be available to meet with individuals and the event will be held in both Edmonton and Calgary the last week of March.
The job fair will also include guest speakers currently hiring youth and those with military backgrounds to provide a brief overview of the organization and share best practices and tips for hiring such clients.
United World College
My name is Stephanie Pye and I am a recent gold award recipient from Calgary, Alberta. Currently though, I am not living in Calgary but half way across the world in beautiful Italy. The school I am at is called United World College of the Adriatic, and is part of the United World College (UWC) movement founded by Kurt Hahn. I am emailing because the Alberta Government sponsors 8 grade 11 students each year to go to one of these colleges for free. Unfortunately there are not a lot of applicants, last year I think there were only 20 in the whole province for such an amazing opportunity.
Students who are involved with the Duke of Ed program have the same values of service, creativity and action, as someone who would fit in at a UWC school. Your time at UWC can be counted towards your Gold Project. At the heart of the Gold Project is the undertaking of a purposeful experience with people who are not your usual companions, working towards a common goal. Adding to this, you are also outside your usual place of residence, often in an unfamiliar environment with unfamiliar people. It is hoped that the Gold Project rewards you with a sense of personal achievement, enhanced social connections with new and interesting people, and a truly life changing experience.
This community fair and contest is a youth-initiated, volunteer-driven, community-based event that will provide community members and families with local resources, entertainment, networking opportunities and fun activities! The purpose of the project is to celebrate diversity and multiculturalism through stories, enhance social inclusion and provide easy access to community resources and services.
Every newcomer youth has a story about starting a new life in Canada. Tell your story through film, dance, music or writing! We are looking for immigration stories that match our theme of 'A Colourful Life: Diversity in Canada'. Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) is giving away two $500 scholarships to youth who are willing to share their stories at the Tale from Around the Globe Community Fair on March 17, 2018. The contest is open to everyone between the ages of 12 and 20.

Alberta Wilderness Association (AWA). Our focus is on advocating for Alberta's wild spaces and the wildlife that rely on them.
