The Blizzard Foundation Looks to Make a Significant Impact in the St. Paul Community this Summer

The Blizzard Foundation is looking to roll out a summer camp for elementary and middle school students in District 625 (St. Paul) who want to grow their love for the game of baseball over the summer months.

This 8-week pilot program will be geared toward campers recommended by District 625 staff members. All campers must make a commitment to attend each session, have an interest in learning more about the game of baseball, and a desire to grow as an individual on and off the field.

The camp will be free of charge and will be facilitated by baseball instructors from the Twin Cities area. The Blizzard Foundation believes in providing access to baseball for all families and empowering baseball players with the tools they need to become outstanding community members on and off the field.

This will be a pilot program with a plan to expand throughout the Twin Cities in the years to come. We are in the early stages of rolling out this program and your help is needed to make this a reality.

How you can help:

1) Connect - Does your social circle include other foundations, business leaders or baseball lovers who would love to support this pilot program? Can you facilitate an introduction?

2) Share - Are you able to share this program with any businesses interested in making an impact in the Saint Paul community?

3) Donate - The mission and vision of the Blizzard Foundation cannot be achieved without the support of our followers. Any donation size helps - bunts and singles win ball games!

If you have any additional questions or are looking to help, please contact Blizzard Foundation director, Jeff Huth at Jeff.Huth@theblizzardfoundation.org or 763-242-2125.

Blizzard Foundation Spotlight Player - February

Do you know a baseball player who deserves to be recognized for achievements off the field? If so, send in a nomination to have that player honored as the Blizzard Foundation's Spotlight of the Month. The Blizzard Foundation is dedicated to encouraging baseball players who contribute positively to their community and others around them.

January's spotlight player was Cole Weber.  When the Spring of 2019 rolls around, Cole Weber will have logged 4-years as a starter on the ball field for West Lutheran High School. As a freshman, Weber came into West as the number one catcher on the depth chart and even saw some innings on the mound. Weber's vision is to play baseball through college but ultimately end up back in the classroom.
