Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue                  February 2018

Live.  Love.  Rescue.

LIVE.  LOVE.  RESCUE.

Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue is a non-profit, completely volunteer-driven organization dedicated  to saving and re-homing Bulldogs with loving families.

Hundreds of Bulldogs are lost, abandoned, taken to animal shelters, or surrende red to rescue every year. Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue accepts Bulldogs whose owners can no longer keep them, and retrieves Bulldogs from shelters and undesirable situations. Our Bulldogs are placed in suitable homes as soon as reasonably possible.

Bulldog Spotlight--Laura
Seven year old Laura is a very pretty brindle and white girl with the quirkiest of ears. She was picked up by animal control and taken to a shelter. Even though she was microchipped she was never claimed by her family.

She weighs 48 pounds and seems to be very people and dog friendly. When she arrived, it was obvious that her eyes and tail were a mess and needed treatment. After her initial vet visit, the list of issues grew! Laura had rotten teeth, a double ear infection, a bad tail infection where her tail used to be (it had already been removed some time ago), a staph infection, dry eye, cough and congestion. All of these issues were corrected with a little time and love.

Her foster mom and dad say she the sweetest girl, so quiet and they love her ears! She loves to sleep in and wait for her breakfast to be delivered. It's like room service. When they go out to play, she likes to watch over everyone from the porch after she runs around a bit with her foster sisters. She does love the sunny, warm weather and likes to sun-bathe. She is also good about not letting other dog's bad behavior bother her. And she absolutely loves kids!

Laura will fit in well with almost any family who wants to bless a middle-aged girl. Laura is patiently waiting on you to give her that forever home!

Where Your Donations Go!

How do we spend all your wonderful donations? Here is a brief breakdown for 2017.
  • 168 dogs adopted or placed in permanent hospice care.
  • 15 dogs put to sleep for health or severe human aggression issues, or died while in rescue.
  • 180 dogs taken into rescue.
  • $143,766 spent on medical care!
For comparison, in 2016 we adopted 149 dogs and spent $116,767.

None of this would have been possible without the support of so many wonderful bulldog lovers. Our adoption fees range from $300 to $600 depending on the age of the dog. In 2017, we spent $855.75 per dog adopted on medical care. We can't do what we do without YOU!

Consider Becoming a Foster Family

Our ability to rescue dogs from undesirable conditions is limited by the foster homes available. We always need more caring homes in the metroplex to help these precious dogs begin a new life. For more information on how you can get involved, visit our Volunteer page on our website.
