It is so important that parents send healthy kids to school. If you have a child that is not feeling well, please keep them home. If these are typical symptoms for you child, and not worsening, and there is no reason to believe there has been a contact to a positive COVID case, students may return after following normal protocols, like 24-hours fever free. Please use the screener below before sending kids off to school each day.
-- At Home Daily Screener Please click this link for information on how to screen for these symptoms daily, including a temperature check at home. If your child is having symptoms on the screener that are not normal, or worsening, please contact your family doctor. It would be important to get medical attention at that point and let the doctor decide the best steps.
-- Who must stay home? - Click on this document to find which students should stay home (a list of symptoms) and how long students should stay home in different situations. Please read through this document and let us know if you have any questions. The scenarios about a student being 'symptomatic' is in regards to symptoms that are not normal, or worsening, for your child.
-- There are many other documents on our Re-opening page that can answer many questions you might have, specific to ACS, or more general procedures for schools regarding COVID, staying at home, etc. Here is the LINK to that webpage.

Please be sure to call the school office or notify your child's teacher by 8:00am if your child will be tardy or absent for the day. We also need to know the reason they won't be at school. Thank you so much!

FREE HOT LUNCH! Families, until the end of December (or otherwise communicated), hot lunch is free for all ACS students. The free meals only apply to school meals, which means each meal must have at least a fruit or a veggie. Ala carte items (extra entrees, milk only for example) will still be charged to your student's account. Your school-age children do not even need a hot lunch account for free hot lunch. However, if you do not have an account, the child must get a fruit or veggie and cannot get extras. This opportunity is great for our families (saves a lot on groceries!) and helpful for ACS. We encourage your family to take advantage of these free meals each day. If you have any questions, please send an email to hotlunch@allendalechristian.com.

The free hot lunch plan also allows non-ACS students 18 years of age and younger to receive free meals. If you have children that are out of ACS or too young to attend, you can put in a weekly order before 8am Mondays. Lunches will need to be picked up between 11:45am and 12pm each day. Non-ACS student orders need to be emailed to lunchorder@allendalechristian.com, and you must specify type of milk (chocolate or white) if you want to get milk.

Hot Lunch Opening We would like to add another person to the team from now until Christmas break for anywhere between 1 and 3 days. If you are interested in volunteering, or becoming a paid member of the team, please email bkoetje@allendalechristian.org. This is a great way to be involved and to be in the building and around ACS students. We would love to have some people make sure the free hot lunch opportunity continues to go smoothly!

ACS PTA is looking for a few middle school parents that are willing to assemble a 9 sqaure court for our middle schoolers! The materials and instructions will be provided. Please mail erinensing@hotmail.com with your availability for THIS WEEK Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday if you are interested in helping assemble this! An exact date and time will be decided after volunteer availability is received.  Thank you!

RightNow Media We encourage you to take advantage of this gift from ACS. RightNow is like a Christian Netflix, and has shows for kids, Bible studies for families, and much more. This LINK should provide your invite for you to create a free account.

Art Online Portfolio-Artsonia You may have recently gotten an email from Artsonia, which is an online student art portfolio. The students and their art teacher, Laura Lutke, will be uploading their artwork to their own online portfolio throughout the year as they finish work. Not only can you view it, but you can also have the opportunity to use the artwork on items like calendars, mugs, shirts, bags if you so desire. A portion of that does go back to the art program at Allendale Christian! The student's portfolio moves with them each year and you can see their progress throughout the years. We hope you enjoy seeing all the artwork we create this school year and years to come!
