How will my student acclimate to online learning?

  • Teachers provide face-to-face live instruction daily (M-TH 8:00-2:30; F 8:00-8:53)
  • Each class creates virtual social contract
  • Learning is divided into smaller "chunks" of time (15-20 minutes)
  • Teachers integrate quality "screen-time," paper-pencil, kinesthetic and auditory activities into daily lessons
  • Consistent routines
  • All teachers implement Gradual Release Instructional Process (I do, we do, you do)
  • Expectations for online participation, communication and "netiquette" are clearly communicated to students
What resources will help my student stay on-track?

  • Detailed syllabus online
  • Due dates and schedule
  • Clear assignment directions
Will my student learn grade level standards?

  • Yes, all course content aligns with state standards, objectives and assessments
  • Students will also receive enrichment and interventions based on current needs.
  • A strong emphasis is placed on "key content standards"
What support will the teacher provide?

  • Post announcements regularly
  • Appear live on video via Google Meet and participate in discussions
  • On-going communication and feedback
  • Provide instructional expertise to assist students in meeting learning goals
Will my student be able to interact with other students online?

  • Yes, teachers provide students with the opportunity to interact with their peers through discussions and group work
  • Our grade level teams create educational experiences that are enriching, challenging and collaborative
What type of feedback will the teacher provide?

  • Assignments will be graded in a timely manner and returned to students
  • The teacher will provide various types of verbal and/or written feedback (encouragement, appreciation, question, guidance etc.)
  • The teacher will also reinforce important materials, concepts, and skills (prioritize)
