Dear faithful people of Saint Peter’s Church:
On this, the 26th Sunday after Pentecost, our liturgical experience with Jesus from the Gospel according to Saint Mark concludes as Jesus teaches us to be confident and faithful in the midst of “war and rumor of war” — a timely message for us all.
Sunday’s 6:00 p.m. Jazz Vespers liturgy will be an interfaith service of Thanksgiving and Solidarity.
“How does my ____ faith help me deal with these difficult times?” is the question we’re asking Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian faith leaders to respond to at a series of 10:00 a.m. forums. This Sunday at 10:00 a.m., I will respond to that question. The series will continue on December 9 with (hopefully) an Imam and on December 16 with Rabbi Rachel Ain of Sutton Place Synagogue.
There is no 10:00 a.m. Forum on November 25.
The 10:00 a.m. Forum on December 2 will be led by James Beaudreau and Mieke Vandersall and will be about the next iteration of the Saint Peter’s Church website.
There will be no CHURCH LIFE email until Thursday, November 29, 2018.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
- Work on the Planters/seating along the front (Lexington Avenue) of the Church has commenced and includes waterproofing the planters as well as new plantings. After this work is completed, leaks in the back of the Sanctuary emanating from these planters will also be repaired. Seating at those planters will also be restored.
- Work on the Outdoor Plaza and subway access is extensively behind schedule. Latest estimates for completion and re-opening are “by the end of the year.” However, New York City mandates that no construction work take place between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day sooo…
- Nevelson Chapel is closed until HVAC work is completed in early Spring.
Peace and Courage!
