2019 Breakfast of Champions
Theme: Claim Your Calm!



Nominate an afterschool program that focuses on helping students or staff claim their calm!

Self-resilience, prioritization, self-esteem, conflict resolution, self-reflection, stress reduction, mindfulness, time management and more!


DEADLINE: February 22
 

We made some FUN changes...this year...
  • The Champions Showcase will be during a plated breakfast--YUM!
     
  • We will feature the top 3 finalists - one finalist for each organization/program.
  • Every finalist wins a cash prize! (1st place = $2,000 2nd place = $1000 3rd place = $500)

How To Nominate

  1. The application has 8 questions.
  2. Decide if you will answer the questions based on your work with students OR with staff.
  3. Each nominee will answer all the questions and submit.
  4. The Selection committee will narrow down the nominations to the top 3.
  5. The finalists will be notified late February - early March in order to prepare.

The Day of the Showcase
Wednesday, April 17 will be the Showcase and it will take the form a TV Talk Show.
A hilarious emcee will introduce each finalist and begin the questioning process.
The audience listens, votes using an app and results will be announced and prizes awarded.


About the Summit

Hosted by the Indiana Afterschool Network and the Indiana Department of Education at the Indiana Convention Center in Downtown Indianapolis, the Summit brings together youth programs and community partners to connect, learn new ideas, access valuable resources, and transform after school and summer learning programs for Indiana youth. 

The EIGHTH annual summit is open to ALL out-of-school time program providers, schools and community partners in Indiana serving K-12 youth.

Tuesday, 2:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

THIS LIMITED HANDS-ON OPPORTUNITY IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR THE PRE-REGISTERED AND PAID PARTICIPANTS WHO CHOSE THIS ADDITIONAL OPTION.
Dig in to fun, hands-on learning around ways to leverage community resources within your afterschool programs with our programming partners at the Indiana State Museum. Uncover new ways to integrate science, art and history into your programs that challenge youth to learn from the past, to understand the present and influence their own future.

NETWORKING RECEPTION at the Indiana State Museum (Open to ALL Summit participants) Monday, 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
(650 W Washington St, a 1/2 mile, 10-minute walk from the Convention Center)
Network with other Summit goers, enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks and win prizes. Join us as we take over the 3rd floor of the Museum to check out three new and exciting exhibits including: The Color of Style, Cardboard Engineering and Kids Curate! Sponsored by the Indiana Secretary of State
