Nominate Your Professor

As you reflect on your time at King's, has there been a professor who stood out and made a difference in your education or your life?

Nominate a professor (full-time or part-time) who you think deserves the Excellence in Teaching Award.  The deadline for nominations is February 15 .

If you have any upcoming events, please send a short blurb along with an image to Communications . We will try and feature it in Things@King's and will place it into the Events Calendar .

Student making headlines as Alzheimer's spokesperson - King's student Ron Robert appeared on CTV National News and CTV Your Morning to discuss his work on a new national campaign for the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

An academic look at sex trafficking - King's School of MEM professor Jeannette Eberhard tells CBC's London Morning about her findings on sex traffickers and what their business practices teach us about the mainstream economy.

King's alumna making TV appearance - King's alumna Sarah Selhi, '94, BA Psychology, appeared on CBC's Dragons' Den.

Visit the King's Job Board, powered by Knighthunter, to review part-time, summer, contract, and full-time jobs in the employment postings from London and area employers specifically for King's students and graduates.

Be Well: Building Confidence, Adaptability, and Optimism

Would you like to develop strategies for building your well-being? If so, please join us for this 8-week group experience when we will use a variety of approaches, including discussion, activities and mindfulness techniques.  The group is free, but registration is required. You will receive a co-curricular credit if you attend 6 or more sessions.

World's Challenge Challenge

The application deadline has been extended to
January 21. Teams of three are still invited to share their unique solutions to global issues, winning team members will still each receive a $1,000 scholarship towards an international learning experience and that team will also be invited to compete for a grand prize of $30,000 at the World's Challenge Challenge Global Final, taking place at Western in June 2019.

Staging Disability: A Playwright's Perspective

The Department of Disability Studies will be hosting Emil Sher, the playwright of "The Boy in the Moon", which is a play that was recently performed at the Grand Theatre. "The Boy in the Moon" was an adaptation of a book written by Ian Brown, which described a family's journey with a son who has profound disabilities.

Volunteer Fair

King's will be holding a volunteer fair. Come out and find new ways to get involved with your community and help build up your resume.  An information session will be held on the last day about how volunteering can help a student's career and graduate applications.

What is Democracy? A Documentary by Astra Taylor

The King's Political Science Students' Association (KPSSA), in collaboration with KUCSC, will be showcasing the "What is Democracy?" documentary. Astra Taylor will be attending for a Q&A discussion and reception. This event is free and all are welcome.

Save through Sustainability: Clothing Swap

Students have the option of bringing in clothes they wish to donate and grabbing items from the piles for themselves. A sustainable clothing swap for students to update their wardrobes and also ditch some of their closet clutter! 
All leftover clothing will be donated to organizations in London.

Bell Let's Talk Day

This symposium will consist of a period of socializing followed by two philosophical presentations and discussion. Dr. John Heng will give a talk on "The Gift of Time in the Modern Age" and Mitchell Ross on "Stan Brakhage & the Philosophy of the Untutored Eye."
