Second Semester Final Exams
Prepare for the 2-day exam schedule on June 4 and June 5.

Lake Park's second semester final exam schedule will take place over two days on M onday, June 4 and Tuesday, June 5. View the final exam daily schedule .

During these exam days, all Lake Park students will have access to meal service, tutoring, and bus transportation (pick-up/drop-off) that is provided on a typical school day.  Students who require transportation between campuses during the day will have a bus provided for them.  No after school activity or late bus transportation will be provided.

To help Lancers prepare for finals, the Bloomingdale Library will host "Exam Cram" daily from  May 29-31 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. for any student in grades 9-12, including non-Bloomingdale residents. Students will have access to group and quiet study areas, reference help, Wi-Fi and computers. The library will provide caffeine, snacks and serve pizza at 7:00 p.m.
National Honor Society Inductions
Lancers recognized for excelling in scholarship, service, leadership and character.











On Wednesday, April 25, new members were recently inducted into the Lake Park High School chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS). Membership in NHS is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. The National Honor Society recognizes students who excel in scholarship, service, leadership and character. The Technology Center of DuPage chapter of the National Technical Honor Society recently held its annual induction ceremony. Inductees have maintained an "A" in their TCD program and demonstrated excellence in leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and employability skills.  Congratulations to the following Lake Park students who were honored, along with their TCD National Honor Society peers, as members of the NTHS organization:

Seeking Parent Input
Please complete a brief survey to help select topics and speakers for the Parent University series.

Lake Park is excited to offer a Parent University series during the 2018-19 school year. Program offerings will feature topics of interest to parents of high school students. Members of the Lake Park faculty and outside professionals from the community will help facilitate these events. Past topics have included  Effective Parenting Strategies for Teenagers, Bullying and Social Media, and Raising Resilient Teens

Class of 2018 Announcements
Important announcements and dates in preparation for graduation.

Lake Park's 61st Commencement will take place on Thursday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. Families with graduating students are encouraged to review the information below and visit the Graduation website for additional resources.

Cap and Gown Distribution
Caps, gowns and 5.0 medallions will be distributed on Monday, May 14 and Tuesday, May 15 during lunch hours in the student cafeteria, or starting Wednesday, May 16 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the West Campus main office. Students will be required to take a brief survey before picking up their cap, gown and 5.0 medallions.

Diplomas and Final Transcripts
December and May graduates will receive their diplomas during commencement. If a student wishes not to participate in the commencement, a parent or guardian must notify the West Campus registrar, Mrs. Smith, by  Friday, May 11 to make arrangements to pick-up the diploma. Diplomas will not be mailed.

Any outstanding fees must be paid before final transcripts can be issued. Please see Mrs. O'Neil in the West Campus main office to take care of outstanding fees. Note: After today, May 4, only cash or credit card will be accepted for any outstanding fees; no checks will be accepted for payment.  

Students must request that a final transcript be sent to the college/university where they have been accepted and will be attending through Parchment.com. Again, final transcripts cannot be sent if there are any outstanding fees.

Scholarship Recognition
Lake Park High School will host its annual Scholarship and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the West Campus auditorium to honor graduating students who are the recipients of merit-based college, athletic, corporate/local organization or Lake Park scholarship(s). To ensure your student is appropriately recognized in the program, please provide all applicable award information to Mrs. Field in the West Campus Counseling Office. Copies of award letters, only for scholarships being accepted, can be delivered at school or scanned and emailed to [email protected] and must be submitted by Monday, May 14 to be included in the program.

Last Day of Class and Final Exams
The last regular school day for seniors is Wednesday, May 23. Senior finals will take place Thursday, May 24 and Friday, May 25. Classes in which seniors receive a grade of "A" or "B" are exempt from traditional final exams. Seniors are not exempt from senior projects, presentations, or capstones. For students who have completed these activities before May 24, the teacher will determine if they are required to be in attendance during final exam days. 
Lake Park Educational Foundation Box Suites
Reserve a Commencement Box Suite on May 10 at noon.

The Class of 2018 Commencement ceremony will be held at the Sears Centre Arena on Thursday, May 31, at 7:00 p.m. Avoid the rush and uncertainty of getting good seats by reserving a Commencement Box Suite! Securing one of 12 lower level box suites for the ceremony will eliminate the worry of saving seats for your family and friends.

Your guests will enjoy light refreshments in the comfort of your special area. Eleven suites can accommodate up to 15 individuals and are available for $400 each. In addition, one deluxe box suite available for $600 can accommodate up to 24 people and has its own private restroom. All box suites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Proceeds will benefit the Lake Park High School Educational Foundation.

Fall Theatre Auditions and Summer Theatre Camp
Calling all thespians to get involved! 

Lake Park High School is excited to announce auditions for Peter and the Starcatcher on Wednesday, May 9 and Thursday, May 10 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the East Campus Dice Auditorium. 

In this five-time Tony  A ward-winning play, an apprentice starcatcher and a young orphan boy find themselves on a life-changing  adventure when they are charged with protecting a magical treasure from fearsome pirates. This swashbuckling prequel to Peter Pan is rich in humor, magic, and touching sincerity.

Reminder:  Registration for Lake Park Theatre Department's summer camp is due by Monday, June 4. Join an exciting 2-week camp full of characters, stories and adventure in preparation for the production of Willy Wonka Jr! 

Enrollment is open to Lake Park students and incoming 5th-12th graders in the community. All rehearsals will take place in the East Campus Dice Auditorium from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on  July 9-12 and July 16-19. The camp will c ulminate with a final performance at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19.
Summer Camps for Middle School Students
Register today - space is limited!

June 25-28, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This highly engaging four-day program introduces female students (grades 5-8) to the world of  engineering and manufacturing through hands-on, high-tech projects. By the end of the program, students will learn to apply basic engineering principles to design and build their own unique gadget using Autodesk Inventor software and a variety of tools and materials. Gadget Girls is taught by staff from Triton College's Engineering & Technology Department, and is based on their very successful GADgET (Girls Adventuring in Design Engineering & Technology) program. Camp will take place at the Innovation Center at West Campus. Creativity is definitely encouraged! 

July 30-August 3, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m
 
This five-day, hands-on program introduces male and female middle-school students (grades 6-8) to the fundamentals of engineering and precision machining. Students will use Autodesk Inventor software to create a personalized design for a wood end-table and report card magnet. Along the way they will learn bas ic programming that will allow them to set up a computer numerical control (CNC) ShopBot and CNC Mill. A one-day field trip to a local manufacturing facility to see manufacturing first hand is also a feature of this summer experience. Camp will start at East Campus, Monday through Wednesday, and transition to West Campus, Thursday and Friday.

Summer School Registration Deadlines
Driver education registration is due by May 14. 

Driver Education will be offered from  June 11 to July 20 . Registration is due by  Monday, May 14 .   View more details and access the registration form . Students enrolling in the program are required to attend a Driver Education Orientation that will be hosted on  Wednesday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m.  in the East Campus library.

Lake Park will be offering five Boot Camp classes this summer at East Campus and West Campus. The classes are designed to provide enrichment and a sound foundation in different subject areas. All classes are offered on a non-credit basis. Classes will run depending on enrollment; therefore, a full refund will be processed if classes are cancelled due to low enrollment.
