PacVec Second Annual Meeting - Registration and Hotel Accommodations

Dear MVCAC members,

The Pacific Southwest Center of Excellence in Vector-borne Diseases will be holding its annual meeting in Davis on Jan. 23-24. For geographic balance, the meeting alternates annually between UC Davis and UC Riverside. MVCAC districts who are local to the meeting or want to attend at their own expense can send up to 2 people per district and all attendees should register ASAP (before Dec. 7).  With our CDC advisors, UC CoE participants and trainees, training grant recipients, CDPH and representatives from other state health departments in the region served by the CoE, as well as prospective MVCAC representatives, we are up against the room capacity of just under 100 persons, so we need a definite head count of who will attend.

Click here for a link to the meeting registration. Click here to view a tentative agenda for the meeting.

Hotel Accommodations:
Blocks of rooms with discounted rates have been reserved at two hotels here in Davis. Both are excellent choices; the Best Western is in the heart of downtown, and the Hyatt Place is closest to the  Putah Creek Lodge meeting site. Below are the booking links along with a brief description of the hotel facilities. Booking early is highly recommended, as the room blocks and discounted rates will expire in early December.

- The all suite property is newly renovated, and offers the warm personal experience of a boutique hotel with the ambiance of high end luxury in the heart of Downtown Davis.

Hyatt Place UC Davis- Located adjacent to the UC Davis campus, guests are within walking distance to many campus facilities, including the Mondavi Center.

When making reservations through the links, please be sure to book within the dates January 22-25, 2019. If different dates are entered, the link will not function properly.

To make reservations outside of the block dates, please call each hotel property directly.

Cheers,

Bill Walton and Chris Barker
