FUNDING FOR THE PROTECTION & RESTORATION OF STATE LAKES IN JEOPARDY
Your help is needed now to ensure funding for the State Lakes Protection and Restoration Fund which provides resources for Maryland's 16 state-owned lakes. Four of the 16 lakes are located in Garrett County - Deep Creek Lake, New Germany Lake, Herrington Manor Lake and Savage River Reservoir. Currently, the State is not required to allocate funding for these natural resources that it owns.
The bill is being held up in the House of Delegates but with your help we believe we can get it passed.
Please contact the Speaker of the House, Mike Busch, TODAY and request his support of HB 801 to provide the necessary funding for Maryland's 16 state lakes.
