Township of Lake of Bays and District of Muskoka seeking comments on Langmaid's Island proposal
An application for the Plan of Subdivision containing 36 lots on the Langmaid's Island property was submitted to the District of Muskoka and Township of Lake of Bays on January 8. It has been deemed complete and is available for public review on the Township website - click here . The District and Township are seeking comments on the application. The District would like to receive comments by March 23, directed to Melissa Halford - click  here to see the District notice. The Township would like to receive comments by April 3, directed to Melissa Markham - click here to see the Township notice. There will be further opportunities to comment on this application, but both jurisdictions are anxious to get public input now. LOBA is preparing preliminary comments which we will share with our members. 

While the island property is in the Township of Lake of Bays, the mainland access points are in the portion of South Portage Road that lies within the boundaries of Huntsville. An application for the two mainland access properties has been received by the Town of Huntsville. This application has not yet been deemed complete and is available to read here



Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) has officially launched Voterlookup.ca in support of the 2018 Municipal Election.
 
Voterlookup.ca is an easy and efficient way for electors to confirm they are on the list to vote for the upcoming municipal and school board elections. Electors are encouraged to visit Voterlookup.ca or call MPAC at 1-866-296-6722 to confirm that they are on the list and that their information is correct.
