That's a cold wind blowing!
We're gearing up for what they say is going to be quite the snowstorm this weekend. Make sure you've got milk, toilet paper, a good book, and a project to work on! No project, you say? Stop in and see what's new - we've got plenty of fabric, patterns, and books to start you on your way. Make something wintry if you love the snow, or something springy if you're thinking a little further ahead. Or be really proactive and get a start on this year's holiday gifts - okay, maybe not that far ahead! But make sure you've got all you need, so you don't have to go anywhere, and you can enjoy the pretty snow piling up outside your window. If you plan on visiting the shop on Sunday, please call first - if the weather is bad, chances are we will be closed!
For all you Aurifil fans, we're starting an
Aurifil Thread Club at the shop! You'll be able to build your thread stash, at a reduced price - See the details below in our
Notions, News & Notes section.

Spring Classes
Our full Spring 2019 class schedule is coming online in the next few days. The first two classes are ready to go, and are listed below:
Introduction to Quilting begins January 29, 2019, with Ruth. It's a five-week class, and you'll learn all the basics to start you on your quilting journey. You'll make two projects, including the Rail Fence quilt, and you'll gain confidence in your sewing.
Vintage Christmas (at right) begins January 27, with Suzanne. Choose your own blocks from the new Lori Holt book, and make a quilt that you love. If you start now, your quilt will be finished before next Christmas (fingers crossed!)!
Click on the links above to sign up for classes online, or stop in at the shop. You can also visit our
Classes page online, to see some other new offerings. We hope to see you soon!
Mystery Quilt 2019
Judy is working diligently on the instructions for the new Mystery, which will be starting mid-February. There have been a few unavoidable delays, so we ask for your patience while we get everything finished - we'll publish all the Mystery information as soon as we can. You can sign up for the Spring 2019 Mystery Quilt starting today, at the shop and online.
For all you
Fall 2018 Mystery Quilters, the reunion will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9:30 a.m. Bring your projects, finished or not, and we will take photos to be posted on our website.

Recent Fabric Arrivals These are several of the arrivals in the past two weeks: NOTE: For a close-up look at the fabrics, click on the photos!
America the Beautiful
We love the stylized look of these patriotic prints! Use them to give your next Quilt of Valor some pop, or make bags, runners, and more.
Fire & Ice Batiks II
These rich reds will draw the eye toward whatever project you add them to. Any one of them will make a great accent or a stunning border. Just make sure to give them a good wash first, to prevent the dyes from running!
Summer Breeze VI
by Moda
Lots of quilters love Moda's "Summer Breeze" lines. They've just released the sixth line, and as you can see we've got a bunch! There are some great new prints, in the color combinations you love. It's time to start that spring quilt! Polar Opposites by Timeless Treasures Oh, we're all looking at this new penguin print (top in photo), trying to find a project to use it in. They're just so cute! The polar bears aren't bad, either. We think this may be the year of the ocean creatures, both above and below the water's surface. Grunge by Moda Yes, we have a lot of the Grunge line already, but these are some of the new colors, and they are great! Look at those brights, in that versatile textured print - we can use them anywhere. Butter Churn Basics from Kim Diehl by Henry Glass Kim just keeps making fabrics that quilters love! This new group works well for backgrounds, and can be used in Reproduction quilts, or traditional quilts - her designs work almost anywhere. Parfait Batiks by Moda A few more batiks in our inventory never hurt, do they? These look like they're perfect for landscape quilts - sunrise, sunset, water, dark sky - it's always better when the fabric can do some of the work for you. 30s Playtime from Chloe's Closet by Moda Judy found some more pretty prints to add to our 30s collection. We have lots, so if you're looking for fabric for a sweet baby quilt, an apron, or doll clothes, look no further! Thirties prints combine easily, and there's almost no wrong choice. Just look at these - they all work together. |
