Dear Parents,

Happy 2018! Despite the cold weather and the February blues to get through, the school year is going so quickly. The Parents' Guild had a very busy Fall;  Salutatio Omnis in September which is always so nice to meet new faces, two Open Houses where our bake table gets bigger and better every year, the Christmas Fair that was a huge success but a tad draining on us all, and now we are busy planning the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon for our devoted faculty and staff on February 7th - they deserve that and so much more. We still have the Drama Production and Arts Festival in May to look forward to, the Golf Tournament June 14th when I get to shout out "FORE"! And lastly, we are excited to announce a new endeavour that we will be organizing with the Alumnae Association - Bingo Night on April 27th! It will be a fundraiser for the Capital Campaign and a community building event that we will be hosting at the school. There will be some great prizes to be won and will be a fun evening so please watch for more details in the coming months

All of these events and so much more behind the scenes could not happen without the support and hands on hard work of the Parents' Guild Executive and members of the Parents' Guild. It still warms my heart when so many parents offer their services in so many forms. It truly does make Sacred Heart a very special place and I thank everyone for their contributions. If anyone would like to join the Parents' Guild, it's never too late. Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 so please don't hesitate to join us.

As my term of President is coming to an end, just as I was finding my groove, I am trying to savour each and every moment for I know I shall miss it. Writing agendas at midnight before a meeting perhaps not, but I shall miss the people, the traditions, and the enthusiasm of both the parents and staff when it comes to getting things done. I look forward to coming back to Sacred Heart in years to come and seeing the addition of a new auditorium and all the other wonderful changes that are planned.

Sincerely,
Tara Durley
