FHS English Teacher Fynn Carroll named ABC10's Teacher of the Month

Long time Folsom High English Teacher Fynn Carroll was named ABC10's January 2019 Teacher of the Month.

Carroll has been teaching English at Folsom High for over twenty years and his passion for teaching students and building an inclusive learning environment really shows in his work.

Watch the ABC10 January Teacher of the Month story on Carroll. Hear from his students on how he makes a difference for them and from Carroll himself, about how his path to teaching wasn't a straight path, but it became inevitable and something he truly enjoys every day.

Carroll received a $1,000 check from Schools Financial Credit Union who sponsors the award.

Third Annual VIA Heart Screening Coming Back to FCUSD
The District is hosting VIA Heart Project again, offering our third heart screening event for 500 teens and young adults, ages 12-25.

The screening will take place at Cordova High on Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration is limited to 500 students and will close on Feb. 22. You can register your child here.

Our community volunteers are full, but we are still in need of medical volunteers. You can register here

Why participate? It's estimated 1 in 500 school-aged children suffer an undiagnosed heart defect, which can lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death. A typical annual physical does not screen for advanced heart abnormalities. This screening does not take the place of your annual or pre-participation sports physical.
