It is only through these partnerships that we can have put on an event as awesome as this. Thank you to every organization, person, and business who helped!

5th Anniversary Balloon Release for Steven Jones
The 5th Annual Balloon Release is to remember and celebrate the precious life of Steven Jones who lost his life at the young age of 21 in a senseless act of gun violence here in Charlestown on May 7th 2013. Steven was attempting to break up a fight in the community when he was tragically shot and killed. Each year on the anniversary of his death, his friends and family gather together to remember his life and support one another as they release balloons in his memory.

This year's balloon release will take place at Eden Street Park on May 7th at 5:30pm in front of the park bench that bears Steven's name. This was his favorite spot in Charlestown where he would hang out with his friends or sit to relax and reflect. Steven was known for his hilarious sense of humor, brave spirit, charisma and his unwavering love for his mother, Susan Rawlinson. Because Steven touched so many young people and adults on all sides of the Charlestown Community, his tragic loss served to unify many in this community. This annual event serves as a reminder of the tremendous impact he had as we continue to carry him in our hearts.
