U.S. Dept. of Interior Secretary Meeting with Carolinas Governors on Oil and Gas Exploration/Drilling

The top U.S. official who will make the decision whether to expand offshore drilling into the Atlantic and other areas is meeting with Carolinas' Governors this weekend. NC Governor Roy Cooper will meet with Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke on Saturday in Raleigh. During the meeting, Cooper is expected to reaffirm his request for an exemption to the expansion.

Deer Immunocontraception Update

The BHI Conservancy has begun the fifth year of a five-year project to control BHI's white-tailed deer population through immunocontraception. Deer management specialists have begun this year's darting and have already captured more than a dozen deer, some of whom received their second and final dose of the drug GonaCon.

During the meeting, BHA launched a new communication tool called BHA Mobile App, which combines information relevant to property owners in an easy-to-use and platform independent way.
