Drew International Opens Corporate Headquarters in Naugatuck, CT
Drew International, the parent company of Drew Marine – a global leader in specialty chemicals and technical services to the maritime industry – celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and picnic at 333 Church Street in Naugatuck, CT on Friday, August 7, 2020. The new corporate headquarters will provide 15 jobs to local Connecticut professionals. Frank J. Monteiro, President and Chief Executive Officer, spoke about the importance of adding jobs right here in the Greater Waterbury area to attract and retain talented individuals who may otherwise move or commute to New York City or Boston. “It was a no-brainer for us to be located here,” expressed Monteiro. “And as we start to grow, we will bring more jobs. I’m hoping we can attract students from Post, UCONN, and Quinnipiac who live in this area and call this area home. That’s our intent. That’s our mission. Now we have to deliver.” The central Connecticut location is convenient to Rt. 8 and Rt. 84, and is within 2 hours of both New York and Massachusetts. The outdoor event, catered by D'Amelio's Italian Eatery of Waterbury, CT, included several local leaders: Naugatuck Mayor N. Warren "Pete" Hess III; Naugatuck Deputy Mayor Laurie Taf-Jackson; Ronald J. Pugliese, Chief Executive Officer of the Naugatuck Economic Development Corporation; Lynn Ward, President & CEO of The Waterbury Regional Chamber; and Lisa A. Shappy, Executive Director of the United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls. Monteiro, who has been a substantial supporter and philanthropist in the area for many years, demonstrated his commitment to the Greater Waterbury community by presenting Shappy with a $25,000 check to the United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls. Drew Marine is a leading provider of technical solutions and services for the maritime industry. With a worldwide network of service engineers and a global supply chain, the company specializes in Water Treatment, Cleaning & Coatings, Fuel Management and Welding & Refrigeration. Eversource Extends Deadline for Enhanced Small Business Energy Efficiency Offerings
In an effort to help small business owners reduce their energy costs and impact on the environment during this difficult time, Eversource is extending its enhanced incentives for common energy saving measures for small businesses to October 15.

Any small business in an Eversource service territory can visit the Energize Connecticut website: https://www.energizect.com/your-business/solutions-list/virtual-pre-assessment-small-business-energy-advantage or call 877-WISE-USE to learn more and request an assessment. If a customer has concerns about COVID-19 and doesn’t want a technician to visit their business at this time, they also have the option of a virtual pre-assessment via phone or video call.

After the assessment, you will receive a report outlining energy saving opportunities, many that can be installed on the spot for instant savings. You will also receive information on rebates and incentives to offset costs of additional energy saving recommendations. If you participate in a virtual pre-assessment, energy-saving products you can install yourself, such as LED lightbulbs or advanced power strips, will be mailed to you.

Upgrades eligible for the enhanced incentives include faucet aerators, spray valves, showerheads, pipe insulation, building envelope insulation/weatherization, HVAC air duct sealing, LED lamps and fixtures, lighting controls, Wi-Fi and programmable thermostats, variable speed drives as well as HVAC, plug load, refrigeration and vending machine controls.

The enhanced approach will be available through October 15, 2020 or while funding lasts.
