Where Love Begets Love

A Word from Rev. Paula+

Beloved Community,

In one of his first addresses to The Episcopal Church, Presiding Bishop Michael Curry wrote the following:
Now is our time to go. To go into the world to share the good news of God and Jesus Christ. To go into the world and help to be agents and instruments of God's reconciliation.  To go into the world, let the the world know that there is a God who loves us, a God who will not let us go, and that love can set us all free.

I've been thinking about this quite a bit this week, as well as Bishop Curry's words about the Gospel helping us to "change the world from the nightmare it often is into the dream that God intends."  There is both challenge and invitation in his words, isn't there?  We are invited to move closer to God as we move out from our comfort zones and into what former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams would call the "chaos" of the world.  All of this is good food for thought and apt fuel for prayer.

As we move forward in our shared ministry, beginning with opening our doors to the community on January 21st to honor the faith and witness of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., my hope is that we all hold this wisdom in our prayer and our living, one-by-each and as the beautifully faithful community we are.  It seems to me that holding this as wisdom as we prepare for Annual Meeting on February 3rd and the Celebration of Our New Ministry on March 30th would be a good thing, too.

Peace & Blessings,
Paula+
