It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Dr. William Danforth, co-founder of the Missouri Coalition for Lifesaving Cures (now Missouri Cures), died yesterday at the age of 94.
Dr. Danforth was a modest, selfless man who cared deeply about making St. Louis and the world a better place. He was passionate about moving medical research forward to find therapies and cures for devastating diseases.
In 2006, Dr. Danforth played an integral role in Missouri’s Amendment 2, the "Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative" and thanks to his efforts, this initiative continues to protect all types of stem cell research in Missouri.
We feel a great sense of sadness and loss with the passing of Dr. Danforth but we are honored to carry on his passionate mission to promote and protect medical research in Missouri.
Our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends,
