"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
- Nelson Mandela

Education is an important part of Gentle Hands ministry. Not only is it great for the children to gain an education but it is a key element in helping our children form healthy attachments when they met their forever families.  It also makes transitioning into a new country and culture that much easier.

To give our children the best education we can, we need your help.

For just $70, you can play an important role in helping to contribute to a quality education for the children in our care.

Please consider supporting the Gentle Hands education program this year. Your financial support will allow us to provide education to over 70 of our children currently enrolled in Gentle Hands' homeschool program and doing external schooling.

If you would like to give or would like more information, please email us on [email protected]. Your support for our education will help change a life forever.
Jessica's Journey: God's Perfect Plan
.................................................................

Our journey with Gentle Hands began in March of 2016. We arrived in the Philippines from the U.S.A to meet our daughter for the first time. We were overcome with emotion at the thought of finally being able to hold our daughter.

This was our first adoption and we didn't know what to expect. Little did we know what an impact Gentle Hands would have on our lives.  Before we met Jessica (our daughter) the staff prepared us to met her.  They were so helpful and knowledgable concerning bonding and attachment and the best way to bond with Jessica.  They had also prepared Jessica to meet us by showing her pictures and talking with her about her mommy and daddy.  We know that because of the knowledge of the workers at Gentle Hands, our daughter had an easy transition and bonded well with us.

We could see the love that was poured into these children; each child individually loved and made to feel special.  Each child not only knew that they were loved and cared for, but they knew that Jesus loved them too.

Gentle Hands is a place of love and healing for these children.
We are so thankful for the work the work that Gentle Hands does with these children and we are forever grateful for them.

When did you start working at Gentle Hands?
In January of 2012.
How did you find your job here?
My brother in law was working for Ate Cher's Mom, in the village. She needed a cook so my brother told me about it, so then I was working for Ate Cher's Mom. And then when they needed a cook here, I came here since I live very close.
What do you do every day?
If I am on the morning shift, I will come at 4am and we make breakfast for the kids and their morning tea. We pack the lunches for their school. We have over twenty students who do school outside and each one gets a hot lunch to take. Then we make lunch, Merienda (afternoon tea) and supper.
What's the best part of your job?
I love cooking. In my home town I used to have a catering shop. I love the kids and the work here. I love to treat all the kids like my family. I love my work. I love to hear the kids singing and thanking to God and getting to eat. I'm happy here it is like my second home.

What's your favorite dish?
My favorite thing to make and eat is Chicken adobo (Filipino national dish) and vegetable chop suey.
