Do You Resolve to Help Others in 2019?
The difference volunteering makes in the lives of others has been well documented, but did you know that helping others also helps the actual volunteers themselves? If you're  looking to benefit others while also improving your own life, you'll find new ways to help your community with the upcoming Volunteer Expo at the Downtown Bend Library on January 27. Stop in anytime between noon and 3:00 p.m. to meet with representatives from a variety of organizations including the Bethlehem Inn, Healing Reins, the Assistance League of Bend, St. Charles Health System and many more. We're Looking for Preschool Storytime Volunteers
A child who enters kindergarten with a strong vocabulary, a love of books, and a familiarity with playing with words has a definite advantage. Deschutes Public Library trains volunteers to go into area preschools and do weekly story times that help the library in its mission to develop critical early literacy skills in our county's children. If you'd like to join our Read Rhyme Romp Storytime volunteers in the Bend area, be sure to attend this mandatory training on February 1. If you have questions before attending, be sure to contact Julie via the contact information here. Find a video about volunteering here.
