Homestead

HOMESTEAD NEIGHBORHOOD
Priority ENews

The Homestead Neighborhood Association normally meets the First Tuesday of every month, 7pm at the OHSU Child Development and Rehabilitation Center; 707 SW Gaines, Third Floor.

This is a special E-News blast being sent because Milt Jones, Homestead's Land Use Representative needs your help.  He is asking for feedback on the City's proposed Residential Infill Project.  Please read his message below and provide feedback directly to him or reply to this email message.  He will be attending a November 8 meeting and would like to determine Homestead members opinions prior to the meeting.  His message follows..............

It is time to begin thinking about the City of Portland's Residential Infill Project.

Here is a link to the project website:  https://www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/67728

Note in particular the summary information for the "housing opportunity" section of the proposal (greater density and infill of single family residential neighborhoods) and the accompanying map.  Two portions of the Homestead Neighborhood are directly affected; 1. The area between Barbur and Terwilliger Boulevard and  2.  Areas on top of Marquam Hill.

The Scale of Houses provisions have city-wide implications.

To the best of my knowledge, Homestead does not have properties affected by the Narrow Lots proposal.

On November 8, I will be attending a meeting of the SWNI land use committee to develop a position on the proposal.  The Homestead Neighborhood Association will not have a regular membership meeting before then. So via this e-mail  I would like to have your input in order to best represent the views of the neighborhood.  In particular, I would like to know:
  • The degree of opposition and support for the proposal in the neighborhood,
  • Identified problems with the proposal as written.
  • Desired modifications to the proposal.
You can respond directly to me at mjones@miltjones.com

Thank you for your help.

Milt Jones
Homestead Land Use Representative
