DID YOU KNOW...?

Lutheran schools have been around for about 500 years?  When Martin Luther nailed his statements of belief on the wall of the church in Wittenberg, he took a stand and started people thinking about universal, Christian education.  Children were seen as important, instead of a precious, albeit expendable (they often died early) part of society.  The first Lutheran school in what is now the United States of America was St. Matthew on the Upper West Side of Manhattan (NYC) with a charter dating back to the 1600's.
Who knew?

Zion Families and Friends,

Zion's Mission is Sharing Christ, Changing Lives!  One of the ways Zion can further its ministry is to extend this to international students.  Zion has an opportunity to host students from China who will attend our School to experience American Culture.

Families will need to host 2 students, have a bed for students, provide breakfast &  dinner and transportation to and from Zion  during the week. SAC is provided at no cost to host families who work. Families will receive $35.00 per night per student to be paid at the end of the visits.

Hosting an international exchange student is an enriching experience for you and your entire family.  By opening your home and heart to a student from overseas, you and your family will gain a new global perspective, many memories, and - quite possibly - a new family member for life!

If you and your family are willing to open yourselves to a new experience and share your home please complete and return the host family registration form below to Yvonne McLellan in the school office.

If you have questions about hosting, please feel free to contact Yvonne McLellan at 715-535-3600 ext. 100 or  [email protected].

National Lutheran Schools Week
January 27-February 1, 2019

National Lutheran Schools Week provides our network of nearly 2,300 LCMS preschools, elementary schools and high schools with the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God's work among us in Lutheran schools. We thank God for the opportunity to provide excellent academic preparation for the children we serve. We are most grateful for the opportunity to share Jesus' amazing love with children and their families. National Lutheran Schools Week gives us an opportunity to proclaim these great blessings within the communities we serve. Our schools are amazing incubators for faithful witness of God's love for us through Christ by teachers and students alike.

Look for  email being sent out tomorrow with complete details on plans for the fun filled week!
