Research, Resources, and Updates

The latest report in an ongoing series from the Other Foundation are now available. You can now access country reports on Angola, Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Communities Against Hate is a national initiative to collect data and respond to incidents of violence, threats, and property damage motivated by hate around the United States. The project is made possible by support from the Open Society Foundations.

MAP and the Center for American Progress released an analysis of the 2015 version of FADA and what it could mean for 10 million lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, along with millions of others including women, single parents, unmarried couples, and children raised by LGBT parents and unmarried parents.

The Movement Advancement Project (MAP) released several resources focused on recent efforts by states to pass legislation allowing adoption agencies to advance their own religious views ahead of the best interest of children.

Requests for Proposals

The Immigration Litigation Fund (ILF) is a national fund whose goal is to ensure that the nation's immigration enforcement system is fair, humane, and prioritizes the civil and human rights of those vulnerable to deportation. In 2017, ILF's funding will prioritize litigation that focuses on immigrants who will likely be targeted, especially those who are labeled "criminals" and others who will be considered top priorities in removal efforts. For its first phase of grantmaking, ILF will be accepting applications for funding
beginning April 1, 2017 and ending August 15, 2017 and requests will be accepted on the 1st and 15th of each month during that period.

The Global Arts Fund at the Astraea Foundation for Lesbian Justice awarded grants to 15 artists and arts collectives responding to criminalization and militarization in their local contexts, exploring questions of survival, freedom and possibility.
