Registration for the
Ontario East Quarterly Meeting and Networking Event in the
City of Kawartha Lakes is now open!
Plan to join your
Ontario East Economic Development Commission colleagues the evening of
June 7th for a Reception and Networking, then attend the Quarterly General Membership Meeting on
June 8th. We wrap up the day with tours of the
Mariposa Dairy and the
Kawartha Dairy. What better way to end the week then with eating samples of cheese and ice cream!
And this week,
Ontario East's Food Sector Team is participating in the
SIAL Canada 2018 Show, in Montreal. SIAL is the only event of its scale in Canada, with more than 850 national and international exhibitors from 50 countries hosting over 15,000 buyers from Canada, the U.S., and 60 other countries.

EOLC receives funding to implement Regional Economic Strategy
The
Eastern Ontario Leadership Council (EOLC), of which
Ontario East Economic Development Commission is one of five partners, is tasked with advancing regional economic development opportunities. a multi-organization partnership tasked with advancing regional economic development opportunities.
On April 23, 2018,
Minister Jeff Leal, of the
Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
(OMAFRA), announced the $135,000 funding grant from the
Province of Ontario
for the refresh and implementation of the
Eastern Ontario Economic Development Strategy.

Premier's Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence program supports and recognizes the dedication, hard work and innovation of local agri-food businesses and individuals who are adding value to existing products, helping create jobs and contributing to economic growth.
The Premier's Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence program was created to recognize and foster the spirit of innovation that thrives in Ontario's agricultural sector. It encourages the development of rural communities, farms, agri-food processors and agri-food organizations by adding value to existing products, creating jobs and driving economic growth.
Primary producers, processors and agri-food organizations are invited to submit applications.

The
Ministry of Economic Development and Growth's Investment Ready: Certified Site Program is now accepting applications from February 1, 2018 until
June 27, 2018.
The Investment Ready: Certified Site Program is a province-wide investment attraction program providing industrial property owners (publicly or privately-owned) a grant reimbursement for 50% or up to $50,000 of eligible expenses that support the certification process and including marketing of the certified site. Certified Sites are also integrated into the Ontario Investment Office's international investment attraction and marketing activities including its land use planning services offered to investors, helping to fast-track site selection decisions.
