Chili has arrived! If you pre-ordered chili from the youth, please pick it up in the kitchen after the 10 am service this Sunday, 2/4. Forgot to place an order? No worries! There will be plenty of extra dinners for sale the day of (including cornbread and dessert!).

Project Lent! Join Rev. Emily Guthrie and Adult Formation leader Lee Puricelli this Sunday after the 10:00 service in the Undercroft (downstairs) to talk about opportunities for your Lenten practice. The National Episcopal Church and our Washington Diocese are encouraging all Episcopalians to participate in "The Good Book Club" and read the Gospel Luke during Lent and the Book of Acts during Easter.  We will discuss ways you can engage in this Lent and Easter activity including book groups and individual guided reading.

Bible Study, Come to the library at 4pm.  All are welcome! No preparation needed. For information contact Lee Puricelli: [email protected].

Palms from last year can be placed in the basket in the narthex, to be burned for Ash Wednesday ashes.
Endowment Grant Applications are Due February 14th.

Want to do something new and creative for the church? We've got money designated solely for that. The Planned Giving and Endowment Committee invites you to submit a Mission & Ministry Grant application for 2018. Contact Kurt Ellison for the form and instructions. Applications accepted until Wednesday,February 14th. Awards announced at the annual meeting, 2-25-18.

Adult Forum on Feb 11: Spirituality & Dementia 
Please plan to join us at 11:20am to hear Janice Hicks, PhD, MDiv reflect on her research and personal journey to understand the spirituality of those with memory loss; and her work to help congregations and caregivers engage our friends and loved ones. As the subtitle of her recent article published in Sojourners Magazine asks so eloquently: "Amid all that dementia takes away, how do we nurture the spirituality that endures?"

Ash Wednesday Services
 February 14. Services will be at Noon and 7:00 pm.  
The CPR/AED First Aid Recertification course has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 17, from 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m.  Please let the Parish Office know if you plan to take this course at [email protected] The registration fee is still $40.

The Episcopal Relief and Development Lenten Devotions booklets are here.  The focus this year is on children.  The daily meditations contain poignant and joyous recollections and reflections prepared by educators, caregivers, parents and grandparents.  Copies are at the back of the Church, or sign up on the ERD website (EpiscopalRelief.org) for daily email meditations.

The Annual Meeting of Christ Episcopal Church will take place Sunday, February 25th directly following the 10am service!  Please come to elect your leaders, hear the stories of our ministry, honor our staff and enjoy a potluck lunch in the undercroft following the meeting.

Women's Group Our first meeting of the Women's Fellowship in many months will be during the annual meeting brunch on February 25, 2018. We will "reserve" a table to sit together and discuss our April service project and upcoming activities.  We welcome all ideas and volunteers for this group for fellowship & service to our wonderful parish.
