Researcher Jean Patterson, Ph.D., Named as a Prestigious Fellow
 
The American Academy of Microbiology has elected  Jean Patterson, Ph.D. as a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology. The Academy is a leadership group within the American Society for Microbiology. Being chosen for this honor means Dr. Patterson has earned distinction for her excellence, originality, and leadership in the microbiological sciences. The Academy Fellows are described as "eminent leaders in the field of microbiology who are relied upon for authoritative advice and insight on critical issues in microbiology." Congratulations Dr. Patterson!

Texas Biomed is participating in RegenMedSA's annual Stem Cell conference in February.

Scientists Explore the Future of Regenerative Medicine 

Texas Biomed is on the steering committee of RegenMedSA, and we're excited to participate in this year's Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Conference. This is the fourth conference featuring presentations by local investigators, students, clinicians and entrepreneurs. They'll be sharing information on the science of stem cells, tissue engineering, clinical progress and applications and technology transfer and commercialization. The event takes place Feb.15-16, 2018 at the UT Health San Antonio Long Campus.

Texas Public Radio will FeatureTexas Biomed President on Live Talk Show
   
On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, Texas Biomed President/CEO Dr. Larry Schlesinger will be part of a panel of experts talking about tuberculosis on Texas Public Radio. The talk show, called The Source, is hosted by veteran journalist David Martin Davies. Dr. Schlesinger will be joined by Dr. David Griffiths, the Medical Director for the Texas Center for Infectious Disease (TCID) in San Antonio. Also on the panel is Tommy Camden, TB Services Manager for the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District. Tune in to this live call-in show from noon to 1 p.m. on KSTX 89.1 FM.
