January Giving Items
Giving items for the month of January are cake mixes and frosting for the J Street Apartment Pantry. Your donations may be left at the back entrance near the Welcome Center. Thank you for your generosity.

380 Kids Performance
 We have a date! Pastor Brody has asked our kiddos to perform the two songs we have been learning. They will perform at the 9:15 a.m. service on Sunday, February 10th. Mark your calendars to have your kids there to sing. If your kiddos are grown, come enjoy the children as they welcome our church into worship.

Youth! Here's Your Next Opportunity
To Be Confirmed!
 Confirmation is the exciting way we
move youth into being full members of our church. It involves learning, serving and supporting one another as you claim your faith for yourself and your place in Christ's Church. 7th-12th graders are all
invited. There will be a parent and youth meeting on Sunday, January 20th and 27th at 10:00 a.m. (following the 9:15 a.m. service) in the library at SUMC. You can hear more about Confirmation at that time.

Notes of Gratitude
 Sandy and I would like to thank our church family for your prayers, cards, visits and phone calls as we prepared for my 5 bypass surgery and recovery from it. We have been overwhelmed with your love and support! Jim starts therapy tomorrow and we keep very busy going to doctor appointments. We miss you all and hope to be back soon. Special thanks to Pastor Brody and Sam and Ann Uthoff who serenaded us with the song "We'll work till Jesus comes" bringing back memories of sweet corn under the pines on the Uthoff farm.

Save The Date!
Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 23rd. This will be a service project night to work on making fleece blankets for a local organization in need. This is an off night for Exit X and 380 kids so we will set up tables and have fleece to make up as many blankets as possible. All are welcome to help from ages 3-100 +! We encourage you to come this night and be a part of a great night of fellowship while working toward helping a local organization replenish their inventory of blankets. Coordinating Our Building Use
Are you needing a place at the church for a committee meeting or event? Please note that ALL scheduling of the building's use must be cleared and scheduled through Julie in the church office. This is not a "permission" issue, but we do need this central location for keeping track of the building's activities (we are thankful to be able to host a growing number of Boy and Girl Scouts this year!).
