The Pulse of the Community: Giving Season

Hope On A Card
There are many ways to give. For some it is a financial gift, for others volunteering or a random act of kindness. Andrea, United Way of Greater Mercer County's Community Benefits Enroller, is present across the Mercer community ready to serve anyone. She sees the reality of individuals struggling to make ends meet. When Andrea was approached for financial help by a Trenton resident, she did not hesitate to give hope on a card. The card has her contact information which enabled the individual to receive assistance with applying for Federal Benefits like SNAP (food stamps) and health insurance. The Trenton resident was eligible for benefits. Now this resident can move closer to being financially independent. This giving season, consider the potential of what YOU can give!
Before You Write That Check or Hit That Submit Button...

1: Check out the nonprofit charity profile and ratings!

2: Allocating funds? Instead of allocating 100% of your donation to one charity perhaps you can split your donation to two or even three charities. This will allow you to have a greater impact on the  issues you care about!
3. Does your employer match your contribution? Check with your Human Resource Department!

4: Are you looking for a leadership development opportunity, to expand your network or make a difference in your community?
5: Looking for other ways to give? Consider Amazon Smile or American Express Giving for cardholders.

Young Professionals Give Their
Time and Talent

United Way of Greater Mercer County hosted young professionals, L.I.V.E. Young Society, at Grounds For Sculpture for a networking and community service event. Art kits were created to benefit the Christopher Columbus Arts School, in Trenton. Included in the kits are: tickets to visit the Grounds and the book, The Secret Garden of Monet. Thanks to our sponsor RobertHalf, our partner Grounds For Sculpture and all who attended to make an impact on arts education in Trenton!
