Click here for full article Compressed Gas Cylinders Bringing Your Refinery Down? Cutting torch assemblies and compressed gas cylinders are very common items in the refinery unit. They also pose an extreme safety threat. It’s up to the unit operators to make sure the unit is safe. They should police the unit during their outside readings to monitor for unsafe conditions. Goodbye Noel Hello Sulfur Colleagues! We wanted to let you know that Noel Vicente, our Sulfur Subject Matter Expert, is leaving Refining Community to pursue new opportunities. While we are very sad to see him go, we have enjoyed our time working with him and are grateful to him for the many contributions he has made in sulfur recovery and refining safety. Surveillance Rounds in the Unit What I like to point out in my audits is what makes the most sense for the good of the unit. I have completed a lot of unit audits worldwide and I see a common thread between them all, and that is the need to check and recheck all of the equipment every shift–  always .
