Principal's Message

Murwood Families,

If you have an incoming Transitional Kindergartener or Kindergarten student, or have a friend or neighbor who does, please join me at the Kindergarten Information Night TONIGHT.  It will be held in the WCI Library at 6:30 PM. Jan Rogenski, our Director of Curriculum and Instruction, will lead the meeting.

As we continue to seek improvement in our attendance rates, please know letters will be going home to families missing three or more days of school to date this year. The letters are tailored to the number of absences, with the hope we can convince you that nothing compares to being in school every day.

Finally, congratulations to our Marvelous Mustangs of the Month from December:  Evander, James, Kollin, Coley, Tony, and Jared! Each has displayed characteristics of the Murwood motto and make our school a better place to be.  Look for their names on the marquee and their picture on our bulletin board. Letters and certificates go home to help celebrate too!

Hearing Screening Volunteers Needed
We will be conducting Hearing screening on Monday, January 28th and Tuesday, January 29th from approximately 8:30 to 11:45.  We need one volunteer for each day.  It would entail picking up students from class, taking them to the testing location, and staying with them during testing.  If you have a few a few hours to spare, please contact Mrs. Kaye in the office.

Calling all Box Tops!!!

Our school received $190 for the Box Tops submitted in Fall 2018!  Our next submission of Box Tops will be in mid-February.  The 4th and 5th grade leadership students are going to be counting and organizing the Box Tops, so be sure to send the cut out Box Tops (place them in a baggie or paste them to a piece of paper) into your student's classroom or the main office.  Thanks!

Did you know you can boost your gift to WCEF through your employer's matching gifts program? Matching gifts is an employee benefit that will cost you no additional money, but doubles the impact your donation can make!

To find out whether your employer will match your donation to WCEF,   search this database or contact your company's HR department. If you have questions about how to make a matching donation to WCEF, contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
