W e have had a great week of learning at Lovejoy Elementary. I just want to say thank you for sending us amazing children! We appreciate all that you do to partner with us each and every day. As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, January 21st in observance of MLK Jr. Day. If your family is looking for something fun to do on Monday, our PTA is hosting Spirit Day/Night at Pin Stack in Allen. Make sure to put your receipts in the designated LL Logo spirit boxes for a portion of the proceeds to go to Lovejoy Elementary PTA. Hope you enjoy your three day weekend!

REMINDER! No School on Monday, January 21st 
Just a reminder that Lovejoy Elementary will be CLOSED on Monday, January 21st in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Pin Stack Spirit Day
No school on Monday, January 21st...Join the LES PTA for Spirit Day at Pin Stack (Allen Location) from 11:00 am - Midnight.  Place your receipts in designated LL Logo spirit boxes and a portion of the proceeds from food and drinks will go to the Lovejoy Elementary PTA.  Grab a group of 10 or more and enjoy their walk in special of 2 hours unlimited play for $24.99. We hope to see you there!


Reminder! In Case of Inclement Weather
School closures will be determined based on safety. In the event of a school closure, notifications will be announced on the district's website, Facebook, and Twitter pages. We will also announce any closure through the media and through a special edition of Email Express.


NEW! Mother/Son Science Night
Join us for a Sc ience Mother/Son night on Friday, February 22nd from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Lovejoy Elementary.  The LES PTA welcomes the Perot Traveling Science Museum for hands on science fun. Please click here to purchase your $10 Mother/Son ticket. Checks (made payable to LES PTA) or cash can also be turned in to the office. We are excited for you to join us!

NEW! UIL for 2nd, 3rd & 4th Grade
Lovejoy Elementary students will have the opportunity to participate in the UIL (University Scholastic League) competition this year.  Events will be held on April 1st and April 5th. Please check your child's Thursday Folder for detailed information and registration form. The registration form is due no later than January 25th.

2019 class pictures will be taken on Thursday, January 24th.  Only class pictures will be taken. Individual pictures will be take in the spring.  Please click here to order your picture online or fill out the form in your child's Thursday Folder.  All orders must be received and paid for by Picture Day on the 25th!



1st Grade Music Program
The LES 1st Grade will proudly present a Music Class Demonstration on Thursday, January 24th at 6:30 pm in the LES Gym. Please join us for a brief, but meaningful program showcasing songs, games, and performances from our Music Classes. Students will report to the music room at 6:15 pm. Please have your child wear their Red LES Schoolwide Shirt and dark or black jeans, long pants, or skirt. If you have any questions, please email Wendy Hebert at [email protected].


4th Grade Bump Up Day to SCIS
Our LES 4th Grade students will be visiting SCIS on Friday, January 25th.  Please look for more detailed information to come from your child's 4th Grade teacher.


Art in Public Places
The City of Lucas Invites you to stop by and view local student artwork from  Lovejoy ISD displayed at Lucas City Hall on Thursday, January 31st from 5:00 - 7:00pm.  Light appetizers and refreshments will be served. Mini Majestic Dance Clinic

Lovejoy Offers Group Counseling
Lovejoy is offering group counseling for students for a variety of areas. The groups will meet weekly, during school hours, and will be facilitated by Lovejoy's Social Worker, Noelle Gove, LCSW. The overall goal of the counseling groups is to address student's social/emotional needs that may be impacting their experience and success at school. Groups are being offered, based on need, to every campus in the district, grades K-12.


Toy Drive Benefiting the Children of Little Leopards  
The Lovejoy High School Work-Based Learning program is accepting new to gently used toys for children birth - 5 years of age. Examples of items needed are as follows:
